New offices for growing 10 year-old East Devon independent mortgage business
Exe Mortgages has relocated to new premises in Escot Park near Fairmile, East Devon after experiencing a period of growth over the past two years.
The business was founded by David Grimshaw in 2012, moving to its first base in Ottery St Mary in 2016. But with the residential market at full pelt for the past two years, Exe Mortgages, with five full-time advisors plus an office manager and two part time administrators, outgrew the Silver Street office.
David came across the potential new premises when driving through Escot Estate and was immediately drawn to the building which was in the middle of its conversion. “I was already thinking about moving and top of my wish list was an office that was both sustainable and characterful.
“The Old Milking Parlour has everything I was looking for, futureproofed for energy with an air source heat pump and underfloor heating, double glazing, LED lighting and an EPC ‘A’ rating. In addition, there’s the charm of the original building which has been retained, the brickwork and stunning high arched windows.”
While the thriving mortgage business is headquartered in East Devon, its advisors are based in North Devon, Mid Devon and Cornwall, covering not just the South West but national clients via referrals and recommendations.
The 125 sqm metre open plan layout with two mezzanines and allocated parking for staff and visitors means there is room for future growth. With advisors working flexibly, the location, within easy reach of the A30 and M5, is ideal.
“The office is bang in the middle of Escot Park, so as well as being convenient to get to, it provides a great opportunity to take a break and walk on the nearby footpaths,” adds David.
