Jennifer Saunders is another celeb who lives in the idyllic Devon countryside; in fact, the star of Absolutely Fabulous has only recently moved to the market town of Chagford. It’s not just Saunders that takes up residence here; it’s also her husband, Adrian Edmondson, and their three daughters. The family has sacrificed their bustling London lifestyle to go for something a little more relaxed in the Devon area. As a result, they’re experiencing a rural lifestyle full of fresh air, farm animals, and wellies too. It’s safe to say that she’s come a long way since her Ab Fab days. 

Sir Francis Drake 

Next on the list is Sir Francis Drake. If you’re not familiar with the name, he was an explorer who was born in Tavistock in 1540. He’s most well-known for embarking on the second circumnavigation of the world in a single expedition. From this, he was awarded a Knighthood from Queen Elizabeth I in 1581. 

Rosie Huntingdon-Whiteley

Following this is Rosie Huntingdon-Whiteley, who’s thought to be one of the most beautiful women in the world. At the very least, it’s safe to say that Jason Statham thinks so. By her own merit, Huntingdon-Whiteley is a model and actress, having projects with M&S, Burberry, and Victoria’s Secret under her belt. On top of these modeling jobs, she has also featured in Mad Max: Fury Road and Transformers, too. 

Chris Martin

Last but certainly not least is the one and only frontman of Coldplay. Due to the scale of the band’s fame, it’s safe to say that Chris Martin is arguably one of the most famous individuals to come out of Devon. The band has sold upwards of 80 million records globally, and they’ve headlined Glastonbury as many as four times. It’s not all about Coldplay alone, as the band has collaborated with other huge artists, including Big Sean, the Chainsmokers, and Rihanna. What’s more, Chris Martin himself appeared on Debrett’s 2017 list of most influential people in the UK.
