Local homebuilder supports kidney patients in the South West with generous donation
Local homebuilder Barratt David Wilson Homes has donated £1,500 to the Exeter and District Kidney Patients Association (EDKPA), boosting the charity's efforts to support local kidney patients and their families. This donation will aid in providing essential services and support to those suffering from kidney disease.
EDKPA is dedicated to relieving the suffering of individuals with kidney disease, especially those receiving treatment at the Exeter Kidney Unit and its satellite units in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. The charity’s initiatives include supporting research into kidney disease and treatment, providing financial assistance and practical help to patients and their families, contributing to the purchase of medical equipment, and organising social events to foster community and support.
Additionally, EDKPA offers a dedicated advice service for patients through Citizens Advice in Exeter, ensuring that those affected by kidney disease have access to the advocacy they need.
The charity assists patient participation in the British Transplant Games, an annual sporting event that celebrates organ transplantation, and they support patients with Kidney Beam, a software platform which offers exercise programmes for renal patients.
