Exeter police officers visit Nigerian community day

Exeter police officers went along to a Nigerian community fun day last weekend to meet families, chat to children and help with some of the activities.

This event is organised by Inclusive Exeter and aims to promote community cohesion and celebrate the vibrant Nigerian culture.

One of the UK’s fastest growing principal contractors is expanding into Devon after making a high-profile appointment.

Staff and residents at Lucerne House care home in Exeter are celebrating because their wonderful Managing Director, Natasha Lazovic, from Barchester’s South Division, has stepped completely out of her comfort zone to compete in the Barchester Charitable Foundation Cook Off 2024.

Police in Exeter ditch uniform to tackle shoplifting

Neighbourhood police officers in Exeter have taken part in a successful Shoplifting Safer Business Action event (SaBA) to tackle the problem of theft from retailers in the busy city centre.

The recent operation aimed to raise awareness and focus on the issue which causes local shop workers and owners a financial headache. The plain clothes action day was a success with officers ditching their usual police uniform to blend into the mix of shoppers.

City plots route ahead as traffic barriers come down

The last of the traffic barriers from Exeter’s controversial Active Streets trial will be removed within days.

The‘filters’ in Heavitree and Whipton are being dismantled in Ladysmith Road, Park Road and St Marks Avenue on Wednesday and Thursday.

Devon County Council’sannouncement came as its highways and traffic orders committee (HATOC) heard calls for unity as the city tries to solve its traffic problems.

Community arts projects to receive investment thanks to University-Council project

Seven innovative arts projects designed to build pride in place and provide opportunities for community participation are to receive funding from a joint university-local government programme.
