Devon-based Taylor Wimpey staff joined thousands of others across the region as they took to their bikes on Cycle to Work Day on 1st August 2024.

Employees at the housebuilder’s head office in Exeter did their commute by bicycle, helping to keep traffic from the roads and cut emissions. Whilst some participating cyclists are based not too far from their workplace, others came from further afield - with one making the 13-mile trek along the scenic River Exe National Cycle Route from Dawlish.

Sports Club among good causes benefitting from Community Lottery

An all-action sports club that attracts members ranging from ten years old to 52 is just one of more than 120 good causes in Exeter that are benefitting from ticket sales for a community lottery.

Exeter City Ultimate Frisbee likes nothing better than to let fly with a perfectly propelled disc.

Yet the club, which began in 2019, is always looking for ways to raise funds to keep the club going.

Work on a new integrated retirement community in Exeter is set to complete in Autumn 2025.

Construction is now well-underway on the site off Topsham Road in the highly sought after residential area of St Leonards.

Exeter officers in the saddle as they use new E-bikes to get around

Exeter Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) and other colleagues have a ‘wheely’ new way of getting out and about to help the public.

The neighbourhood teams in the city and wider Exeter area now have access to E-bikes and have recently saddled up to try out the new mode of transport.

PCSO Paul Fudge had his first tour of duty on one of the new bikes earlier this week and the cycles are already proving popular. As the weather warms up and Exeter is very busy with students on holiday and other visitors it was an ideal chance to go on pedal patrol.

New Neighbourhood Support Team adds extra strength to fighting crime ​

Devon & Cornwall Police has introduced a new policing team which will work closely with communities to tackle priority problems affecting local people and businesses.
