Authored by CEDA Exeter

Free From February is the 28-day ‘give it up' challenge from CEDA who in 2018 are celebrating their 30th anniversary.

Going free from one of your biggest vices is based on research that if you can stop doing something for 28-days, you are five times more likely to be able to cut it out or reduce it for good.

CEDA is inviting people to go ‘free from’ whatever they choose and get sponsored for doing so.

CEDA Marketing Manager Craig Bowden said “Free From February gives people the opportunity to challenge themselves to give up something they will find difficult…. It...

Exeter's unique singing sessions start again

"Oh Monday, Monday (ba-da ba-da-da-da)." It's about the lousy feeling that comes with the end of the weekend and beginning of another workweek.

But ... Monday evening ... "Cheaper than therapy and more fun ..."

We are cranking up the machines, TCP'ing the larynx and since early 2007, Forever Young Sing for Fun in Exeter. Mondays 7-9pm at St Sidwell's School EX4 6PG.

We raise the roof and sing to brilliant backing music with the words projected on the wall. Why? Possibly because we are not a choir ... there are no auditions ... no rehearsals ... no microphones ... no...

We meet up on a Monday and ...

Forever Young Sing for Fun meet up on a Monday and ... sing with the best ... da doo ron ron ... a-wop-bop-a-loo-bop-a-wop-bam-boom.

In 2018, we will be in our twelfth year - singing for fun in Exeter.

Most research says that singing is good for you and … your … heart; memory; breathing; social life; wellbeing; mood; soul; asthma; snoring; happiness ... So if you want to sing in a group, but not with a choir, will you still get all the above benefits? As most of the research has been carried out with choirs - the answer is unknown. But why wouldn't you want to sing in a...

Exeter choir alternative sings for fun

After one singing session, we were askedL "Are trained music teachers involved?" Our reply ..."If so they haven't told us" ... probably tells you more about Forever Young Sing for Fun than two paragraphs of descriptive text.

There are a number of fine choirs in Exeter and some of our regulars are also members of these choirs.

They have told us that they like the informality and the fact that we don't rehearse and never do any performances – every time we sing we are performing just for ourselves. It is just fun to sing a lot of songs, rather than perhaps in a more formal...
