McDonald's in Exeter teams up with CEDA to renovate garden

  1. McDonald’s Franchisee, David Shawyer, has partnered with local Exeter charity CEDA to help renovate and tidy up their garden space.

Joined by a crew of nine volunteers from his Exeter McDonald’s restaurants, David Shawyer and his team refreshed the communal area by jet-washing the patio, rebuilding the fencing and storage shed, painting and decorating, installing new seating, and rejuvenating the garden by weeding, and adding new plants and flowers that can be enjoyed throughout the year.

An insurance expert is calling on South West residents to protect their homes against damage caused by nesting squirrels - a risk not typically covered by standard home insurance policies.

William McCarter of insurance broker Lycetts has issued his warning during the June and July nesting season.

Residents and staff of Barchester’s Cumberland Grange Care Home in Exeter have set themselves a challenge! Visiting 50 different pubs in and around Exeter.

Every Tuesday evening, residents and staff choose a different pub to take a trip to where they sample and enjoy their drinks with sides of nibbles! The outings have become so popular that they are now joined by family members each week, too.

Cranbrook Education Campus, (CEC) part of theTrust, has been rated "Good" by Ofsted following an inspection in May. Solus opens new vehicle repair centre in Exeter

Solus, a wholly-owned subsidiary of insurer, Aviva, is opening a new vehicle damage repair centre in Exeter.

The new centre is the first in the South West, complementing the existing network of repair centres across the UK. The opening of Exeter Solus is a continuation of Aviva’s strategy to support its motor insurance customers by increasing the number of motor claims managed from start to finish.

Located at Sowton Industrial Estate, the 20,000 ft2 site will create 24 jobs, ranging from vehicle technicians and consultants to customer care roles.
