The Heart of the South West LEP (HotSW LEP) Digital Skills Partnership has announced the first of their Train4Tomorrow virtual jobs fairs , which will connect hundreds of newly-trained and highly-skilled digital and technical learners with employers in the South West.
The first virtual jobs fair on 26 May 2021, 9am - 4pm focuses on digital and technical sectors and will give employers from across the region the chance to showcase their company and access highly-skilled talent from the Train4Tomorrow bootcamps programme for free.
A Devon charity offering disadvantaged children a taste of life on the farm has been handed £1,000 to support its work.
Farms for City Children, which was founded by author Michael Morpurgo and his wife Clare in 1976, has been awarded the donation from Persimmon Homes South West’s Community Champions fund, which sees two regional worthy causes awarded up to £1,000 each month.

Chunk of Devon Win Champion Pasty at the British Pie Awards…again!
Chunk, a Devon based pie and pasty maker, have won the much-coveted award of Champion Pasty at the 2019 British Pies Awards for the second time. Chunk’s award-winning recipe won the award back in 2009 – and caused a bit of a stir (to say the least!) with their neighbours in Cornwall. But this year, with tough competition from other Pasty makers, including those from Cornwall, the Chunk Steak Pasty beat them all!
